North Korea has at least 5 nuclear bombs: defector

Tokyo - An aide to the highest- ranking defector from North Korea says the reclusive communiststate has at least five nuclear bombs, the Sankei newspaper reported, citing an interview with Kim Duk-hong.

Kim, an aide to Hwang Jang-yop, a former top official in Pyongyang, said theweapons were built with the help of Russia and Pakistan.

North Korea started developing nuclear weapons in the 1960s, the paperquoted Kim as saying.

Japan has decided to develop and launch spy satellites, in part to monitor North Korea after it launched a long-range missile over Japan in August.
