BEIJING - Up to the end of
September this year, the number of broadband access
service users in China had reached 20.605 million, a
rise of 9.458 million over the end of last year.
It is predicted that the broadband will enter a
period of large-scale growth, with the market to be
dominated by China Telecom, China Netcom (CNC) and China
Unicom.
China Telecom will focus on amalgamation
of ICP and ISP, while CNC will focus on special line
service for governments, commercial enterprises and
residents, ADSL broadband access service, LAN broadband
access service, and video services. The main target
services of China Unicom are video telecommunication
services including teleconference service and visual
telephone service.
