Philippines: President-elect forms team for smooth transition of power

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has formed a six-man committee that will implement a smooth transition of power in Malacañang, his spokesman said on Wednesday.

Peter Laviña bared the composition of the transition committee on a Facebook post.

“It’s now out. The members of the Duterte Transition Committee are Campaign Manager Leoncio “Jun” Evasco; Assistant Campaign Manager and Executive Assistant Christopher “Bong” Go; Carlos G. Dominguez, former Cabinet member and Head of our Campaign Finance Committee; lawyers Salvador Medialdea and Loreto Ata, personal lawyers of the presumptive President, and yours truly at your service,” Laviña said.

The transition committee, he added, was formed on Wednesday.

The members met at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City.

Laviña said they also plan to hold daily news conferences “to continue serving the various media and help us disseminate news and information about presumptive President Rody Duterte.” Read More
