Kirstie Elaine Alora will be the only Filipino taekwondo jin headed to the upcoming Olympic games in Rio after a second place finish at the recently concluded Asian Qualifying Tournament in Pasay City.
Alora finished second in a field of five competitors in the Seniors Female A +67kg category, getting past Nepal’s Nisha Rawal and top-seeded Akram Khodabandeh of Iran.
The Filipino fell short of the gold after falling to Taipei’s Huai Hsuan Huang. Only the top finisher and the first runner-up qualify for the Olympic Games. Read More
