Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said on Friday that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) belongs to Pakistan and will remain a part of the neighbouring country, just as Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) will always remain part of India.
The National Conference (NC) party leader was talking to the media in Srinagar.
“PoK is in Pakistan and will remain, J&K is in India and will remain. We need to understand this”, ANI reported.
He added that both the countries need to sort out differences through dialogue, as war will not benefit either for Pakistan or India.
“War is not the solution, only lives our (are) lost. Dialogue is the only option,” he said.
Reacting on Abdullah’s comment, Jammu & Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Nirmal Singh said that PoK is constitutionally a part of India.
“1994 Parliament resolution clearly said PoK is constitutionally a part of India,” he said.
