Fans were shocked to discover last year that she is not a cat, but a little girl. Now, the world’s most famous faux-feline friend, Hello Kitty, has rocked the world again, by opening her biggest ever theme park in the world.

A new Hello Kitty themed amusement park officially opened in Anji County, Zhejiang Province, China on Wednesday, People’s Daily Online reports.

The new park, which cost £210m, was built to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the cartoon character, which took place last year.

Apart from exhilarating, a ferries wheel and regular performances, the park also includes a castle-style hotel with 343 luxury guestrooms.

However, the ambitious amusement park was subjected to a barrage of abuse from critics, who were unimpressed with its design and layout.
