China conducts fourth test of Wu-14 nuke strike vehicle

China this week carried out the fourth test of an ultra high-speed nuclear delivery vehicle that conducted what intelligence officials say were extreme maneuvers.

The test of the Wu-14 hypersonic strike vehicle was carried out Sunday, launched atop a ballistic missile fired from a test facility in western China.

It was the fourth successful test of the Wu-14 in the past 18 months and the frequency of tests is being viewed by U.S. intelligence analysts as an indicator of the high priority placed on developing the weapon by the Chinese.

Earlier tests took place last year on Jan. 9, Aug. 7, and Dec. 2. The Washington Free Beacon first reported the tests.

The new strike vehicle is considered a high-technology strategic weapon capable of delivering nuclear or conventional warheads while traveling on the edge of space. One of its key features is the ability to maneuver to avoid U.S. missile defenses.

The Wu-14 was assessed as traveling up to 10 times the speed of sound, or around 7,680 miles per hour.

Unlike earlier tests, the latest test demonstrated what one official called “extreme maneuvers” that appeared to analysts designed for penetrating through missile defense systems. Read more

Why has the American press not covered this, they seem to have no problem talking about the US hypersonic aircraft over and over again for weeks, in your face on almost all News-streams reporting. US journalists are no more than propagandist’s now. I would like the Chinese to establish a moon base and go on to be the first on mars together with the Russians. The west would have a conniption fit if that happens.

You slam the US media for propaganda, which I would agree. But then you go on to push your own propaganda. Don’t you think a more cooperative attitude needs to take place with regard to exploring space and securing territory? After all, these resources are vital to all earthlings. ALL of the space programs on this planet have benefited from the work of the Americans. Much of this information was given to the world freely, not coveted. Particularly life-saving technology was shared or I guarantee you there would be a lot of dead space travelers already. I see no value in sneering at the west on this issue.

The US at first laughed at the Chinese when they were about to make their first foray into space. This was an humiliating experience for the Chinese representative. But now the Chinese are making gains and they are not laughing anymore, in fact its more than likely that the US will try to sabotage their efforts. Sheik Yerbouti have you been living under a rock or have amnesia about the numerous trangressions the US has committed against China and various other nations. The US refused to help the Chinese program, but the Russians did not refuse, and when that overpriced bundle of glorified airstream trailers called the International space station, (that the US has to use Russian rockets to get too), is decommissioned and burns up in the atmosphere in 2020, it should be replaced by a joint Chinese and Russian station. The US don’t want to be second and will not cooperate if it isn’t first, besides the currency is bankrupt mostly from numerous wars to protect Israel right to commit genocide against the Palestinian people and to continue to steal their land, to keep the status- quo of the 1%, the bankrupt dollar is being removed as the worlds fiat currency as of 4 months from now and the US will be a non-factor in future space exploration anyway. I don’t sneer Shiek Yerbouti, I have the facts, and the facts don’t lie. You sound like some kind of paid western propogandist or some kind of weird bleeding heart liberal, I mean your blog is weird dude, my girlfriend talks harder than that when we have debates about many subjects.

By the way, all Chinese ballistic and cruise missiles are thermonuclear-capable.

There is a long list of Chinese super-weapons.

    1. The Chinese C-803 ASCM has a terminal stage of Mach 2.
    2. The Chinese YJ-18 ASCM has a maneuverable warhead with a terminal speed of Mach 3.
    3. The Chinese CM-400AKG ASM has a terminal speed of Mach 5.
    4. Chinese DF-15 SRBMs travel at Mach 6.
    5. Chinese DF-21 MRBMs travel at Mach 10.
    6. Chinese DF-3A IRBMs travel somewhere between Mach 10 and Mach 25.
    7. Chinese DF-5A, DF-31A, and DF-41 ICBMs travel at Mach 25.
    8. The Chinese JL-2 SLBM is a navalized DF-31A ICBM and travels at Mach 25.
